Meet Mika! The adoption donation for the pups is $250. Please read about our new mama dog Mika...This beautiful dog and her litter of 9 puppies were taken in an emergency raid by the Humane Society for animal abuse. Mika was found chained and has the scars on her neck to show for it.Bless her heart, you would think she would be an angry or fearful dog but she is so very sweet and loving. She will just lay her head on your knee and look up to your eyes for some attention. Mika is a very young dog approximately one year old. She is so very underweight at 50#. The vet feels that when she is recovered and at a good weight she should weigh 75-80#. Mika will be staying in her foster home until she has gained weight and is ready to be adopted after her spay. We are looking for a very special home for Mika, one where she will have someone home during the day with her to give her the time, love and attention she longs for and deserves.We are accepting applications for Mika now if you are willing to wait for her... believe me, it will be worth it if you are looking for a very affectionate and loving companion! The adoption donation fee is $250.Puppies will be adopted on a spay/neuter contract only. An ADDITIONAL $100 deposit will be taken at the time of adoption and refunded upon proof of spay/neuter.Our foster homes are in Frederick, MD and Sykesville/Eldersville, MD and the dogs must be picked up at their location.After the references are checked, a scheduled visit to the foster home can be made only by applicants that arecommitted to adopt the dog and once the immunizations have been given.We feel it is especially important for children to be at this visit to ensure that the dog is a good match for the family.Adoption donation fees: Lonely Hearts Animal Rescue is a 501c3 non profit.
